Printer Peer used to sell for quite much. Why do you offer Printer Peer for free?
Our company has changed its focus in the software business and therefore we will
be unable to further support the product. Instead of retiring the software, we decided
to offer it for free and support the hosting costs out of the advertisements we've
placed all around the website.
What are the limitations of the
trial version?
The version available
on the website is the full version, so there are no limitations. Simply download
your copy, install it and enjoy.

Directory?
Yes, Printer Peer is able to import users from an Active
Directory domain.

Yes, Printer Peer works on peer to peer networks provided that the printing is routed
though a print machine rather than directly to a network printer. Printer Peer will
be installed on the machine that acts as a print gateway.
Does Printer Peer require software
on the client?
No. Printer Peer is installed on the machine that acts as a print gateway. No software
is required on the client computers as the print jobs eventually reach the print
server where they are captured by Printer Peer.
Does Printer Peer use port monitors?
Printer Peer does not use port monitors. It works by collecting the information
from the print subsystem and thus the program does not interfere with Windows is
any way.
What printers can Printer Peer
track?
Printer Peer can track any kind of printer as long as there is a driver installed.
Printer Peer works by interrogating the print subsystem and not the printer directly.
What operating systems can Printer
Peer monitor?
Printer Peer collects information from clients running Windows NT 4, Windows 2000,
Windows XP, Windows 2003 or Windows
Vista. Clients running any other operating system do not correctly
report job information.
Will Printer Peer slow printing?
Absolutely no. Printer Peer works by briefly pausing the print jobs when they are
submitted to the queue in order to be analyzed. Then the jobs are either let to
print or deleted. This introduced a delay that is barely noticeable.
